And I thought Aomine was scary...

THIS SHOULD BE LIKE :''HIGHT ISSUESS LV:AKASHI''
-
Sure, he acts arrogant but he still has his former teammates' respect.
-
Pff-- don't care. akashi is still the best ~
-
I love Akashi and his godlike personality, but I have to admit that because I like Shin-chan better, I'd pay good money to have Midorima kick him in the face. But in reality I know that Shutoku can't win the match for the sake of the plot.
Still, my heart aches. -
I don't care. He's my favorite, and I can't wait to see Rakuzan beat Shuutoku. (sorry midorima) It would be even better if they went on to defeat Seirin, but I know that probably won't happen. XD

I don't care. I love Akashi! :3
His personality makes him much cooler. -
Yeah... I can't really agree with self-centered. Arrogant maybe... Prick slightly... I mean all of the GoM are pricks on their own levels. Akashi's more of a naturally high and mighty king with enough backing to support his claims. He's good at the game. He's definitely intelligent. He led and still leads a pack of prideful people who holds respect for him and follows him not just out of fear.
I haven't really seen a character that matters<to me> that is truly self-centered. At the start Kise and Midorima showed signs of it but not completely. Akashi's 'すべてに勝つ僕はすべて正しい or the since-I-always-win-I'm-always-right thing' is more of an enforced statement of the truth than anything else <my opinion only of course>
Arrogant, again, at the start Kise, Midorima, especially Aomine, albeit it was just an unfortunate result of the events in middle school, and even Murasakibara exhibited this. Akashi~ well... I find them all rightfully arrogant really~ some just over the top. But as I see it, the ones that are really arrogant are Kagami and Kuroko. Kagami more innocently arrogant but Kuroko, he's baselessly <is that a word?> arrogant. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate him or anything but I mean, I don't get why he's being seen as some sort of innocent saint. He knew he wasn't good at the sport yet he declares to defeat the GoM by doing what? By looking for someone else or some other team to do it for him while all he does is give some support and do nothing by himself directly. He knows he's weak yet still he kept himself to what he was back at Teikou and still made the declaration as if he had the backing for it. Did he really believe that in his weak state, his current stunted skill was enough to support anyone in defeating the geniuses whom he acknowledged as still growing?
We know Akashi taught him his skills and may or may NOT have purposely sabotaged him but wasn't it him who decided that just passing was enough? Wasn't it him that didn't really strive to get anywhere else? It was only until Aomine's reality slap that he started to better himself, his skills. Back then, if he couldn't shoot, he could've asked and surely there are people who can help him yet he was completely useless at the start of high school which meant that he didn't ask. He didn't take the initiative. What? Was Akashi supposed to spoon feed him everything? If he didn't ask, that means he didn't really have any determination in it and he found himself complacent in just his passes.
So if the GoM needed to be snapped back to reality, so did he and Aomine did that for him. rather ironic really...
<well anyway, that got long~ sorry> btw, I really wish that Akashi's height complex is real and not just some comical double meaning for his words which obviously has a deeper meaning than just 'you're too tall, I dun wanna tilt my head so sit down'

wow..haha XD -
Don't care. He's hot anyway~

I agree with what MelSenritsu said about Akashi, very well put and spot on~~ :)
I must, however, point out that I think it's odd to call Kuroko weak. Sure he isn't as kickass on his own as the rest (as of now) and has his limitations, but calling him weak and lacking initiative is something I do not agree with. We know quite little about the back story and the time when the Generation of Miracles were together. We also know Kuroko has been throwing "the wrong way" and had problems, so who knows, might have been a reason for him to give up on it for the time being and concentrating on the passes instead, since that was what he did the best. It wasn't like that team was meant for personal growth either (more, rock or be let off the team) imo, so he tried to excel in what he could for the time being and believing he could use it in the future, too. I think it's quite logical to want to excel at what you can, and Kuroko was "given" misdirection when no one thought he was a good player or had the build to become a basketball player(but had passion). I honestly think that would motivate anyone to do the best they can at that then, when they "had nothing". Also, to call a him weak when all of the Generation of Miracles acknowledges him is well, I just can't agree with you :p Kuroko might not stand on his own as of now, but that doesn't mean he's weak and I think he's shown that he brings his share to the game. Might just be me but that's hiw I feel at least ;)
Again, very well put with Akashi, that's the reasons why I adore him so~~ -

i agree with MelSenritsu as well.i don't think kuroko is that innocent either.if no one taught him,he should've looked for it himself.

I agree with all of you! But as LittleOwl said, it's not really fair to say that Kuroko is weak. Imagine being in a team that won every freaking game and uses you just for your passing. Wouldn't that make you want to polish it to its maximum state? And besides, he trained with Aomine almost every night, how is that not initiative? Kuroko only got really serious when new challengers arrived which can only happen when he is not with GoM becuz then they would just kick the crap out of them instead of letting Kuroko face them head on. The reason why Kuroko only started to get better during high school was because he was finally given the chance to face his opponents as a real player and not just someone nobody notices just because his role is to pass the ball.
Is Kuroko arrogant? Yes, in many ways he is but did he prove himself? Yes, he did. Getting to where he is now is all his own effort and initiative. Though I still think its a bit early for him to win against Akashi so who knows~?
Oh, and is anyone ****ed about the fact that almost every time Kuroko does something amazing, Kagami steals the spotlight?? I know I am!! Now him, he is arrogant! I still have a huge spot in my heart saying how much I hate him for his damn arrogance!
Okay, rant is over~~!!
(Fellow browsers, do not question why there is a debate based on Akashi's pic!) -

Haha...
If I'd have a say in this, I think every one of KuroBas' characters' personality is unique in their own way.
I don't hate Kagami. Or Hanamiya, at all.
It's as Aomine says, "There is no such thing as a useless player in a team"
So..I think all the characters are important in their own way

¬_¬ I love how everyone had these "solid" beliefs about the Teikou team since so long ago–back when there'd only been really short and vague flashbacks of that time.
Looking at the Teikou Arc, which is currently telling us the whole story, we see that many things are not so simple. (i.e. Kuroko working his****off with almost NOTHING to show and practically everyone telling him to stop trying.)
Ignoring a now pointless debate, Akashi IS a pretty arrogant dude. He certainly has become something of a prick. But isn't that common of those that are privileged? When you know not of struggle, you take precious things for granted.
He's not self-centered, though perhaps self-serving. But he's certainly not winning any personality contests.
I will say, it's quite refreshing to see someone not immediately in love with this guy whom, quite frankly, terrifies me.
