YGO 1st generation, the ONLY YGO the rest are all LIES! LIES I TELL YOU! Anyone who grew up watching first gen YGO and had to wake up at 7 in the damn morning every Saturday will vouch! The rest don't exist (in my mind they never will because YGO ended with YUGI MUTO!)

Just because the other YGOs didn't play a role in your childhood doesn't mean the others are crap :/
For instance, I grew up with the original, but in the end I found 5D's more superior, in my opinion (GX and Zexal are cool too, but 5D's is still my favorite). Just take off your nostalgia goggles for once and attempt to see the good parts of the successors... -

I agree with catastrophicBlacknes. The other yu-gi-ohs will never live up to the original. Yugi is and always will be the best of all the other protagonist. Jaden is annoying and tells WAY too many jokes. Yusei is just boring. plus dueling on motorcycles? I mean come on how lame is that! lol as for Zexal not much I can say about that one. watched a couple episodes but never got into it. POP FLYIN! what kind of catch phrase is that? it makes me laugh though so gotta give them credit for that. Childhood has nothing to do with it. It's an opinion and a fact. Nothing ever lives up to the original :)

If you really like the original Yu-Gi-Oh, please suport our cause! If you don't like the way yu-gi-oh duel monsters ended, if you think yami shouldn't have died, and that yu-gi-oh should'we stayed the same, than join our cause! Help us make ourselves heard! We have invented a story-line for season 6 in order for fans to enjoy it, and also, to bring the original yu-gi-oh back, because we hate what it's become! But we need your help! Suport us, and help us get or cause big! That way, Takahashi might hear us, and we can get him to make our story into the show! Join us! Help us bring Yami Yugi back to the show! Actually I found that YuGiOh 5Ds quickly matched and ultimately surpassed the original YuGiOh due to the darker and more serious vibe as well as the mature aspects of the main characters. Not to mention the main characters had such great and unique designs. As for GX...meh. Whatever. Zexal though has some really big shoes to fill. Accept it people, I grew up on the original YuGiOh and quite frankly 5Ds raised the bar. This was one case where it better to go with the times rather than clinging to nostalgia.

i actually grew up with the original but theres nothing wrong with likeing the rest either. original yu gi oh is what started the world wide love for the game not to mention the beautiful story line and plot. GX is one of my favorite series as well . it may have started off pretty crap but once you get further into the series and past the stupid filler episodes it's really awesome( <3 Jesse and Judai)5d's started of kinda slow for me but like GX as it progressed it got rather well. i cant say to much for Zexal cause i haven't seen it but the reviews are very negative.
in short don't give me any crap because i like the original and the other series. don't like don't watch. -
Yu-Gi-Oh GX, 5D's and Zexal are both awesome but the original will always have a soft spot within my heart.

i like all YGO and 5Ds some what equally and i think GX was a lighter less serious plot to kinda die down the seriousness of the original then 5Ds brought back tht seriousness and Zexal again is kinda dying it down a bit no matter what tho this is an amazing franchise that i grew up with and now my 5 yr old cousins r growing up with :)

No clue about Zexal, but asking those who think GX isn't serious....didn't the 3rd season of GX have lots of er....deaths? ^^; Or am I wrong? I thought that GX was pretty dark, but then again I haven't watched all of 5D (it was good though) and Original was great too! They're all awesome in their own way.
But this picture is amazing! I love how it emphasizes the power each one has! -
In my opinion, the first series is the only good one, mainly because of the characters. I’ve never like really any of the characters in the newer series’. Within GX, 5d's and Zexel, none of them had a good villain. The villain in the first series was Bakura, who is the definition of evil. And remember Kiaba and Marik, good times.
my main problem with the newer series’ is that they completely threw away the Egyptian backstory. -
Eh, I'm a fan of the newer generations myself.
